percussion trio for bike pumps, balloons, bike wheel, electromagnetic activity
In 2019, the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), comprised of eight individual telescopes spread across the Earth, captured the first
image of a black hole located in the galaxy Messier 87 (M87). Located 55 million light years from the Milky Way galaxy, M87’s black
hole is 6.5 billion times the mass of our Sun. Emitting jets that produce light spanning the entire electromagnetic spectrum, I am
fascinated by the chaotic behavior of material spewing out of this black hole.
When performing, shift perspective on how you interact within the galaxy. Imagine being caught inside the black hole’s magnetic field,
experiencing attraction and repulsion; being a jetting light, or a failing organ within this massive system.
