fermented wax, implosive sacks stain flowers

for orchestra and electromagnetic activity

fermented wax, implosive sacks stain flowers for orchestra takes place inside of an imagined ecosystem, experiencing a series of ecological disasters. These disasters are unpredictable and volatile, creating a sense of heightened reactivity inside of this environment. Throughout the work, listeners zoom in on this environment and out again, as it grows and changes in response to disruption. One observes the affect of ecological disaster on several scales, observing its reach on a massive scale down to the miniscule, the shadows, and the air.

Throughout the work, percussionists trigger samples of electromagnetic activity, recorded using an electromagnetic microphone on various devices. By observing the otherwise invisible energy, I amplify the invisible forces which densely populate our modern environments.
